It gives us immense pleasure to convey our thanks to you for our stay in Cook Islands last month. We really had a great time while in Aitutaki and Rarotonga. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa (staying in an Overwater Bungalow was the highlight of the trip!) and The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa (our Beachfront Suite - in what is now your new adults-only resort, Sanctuary Rarotonga - was superb!). The team at both places was warm and friendly, and the food was lovely. We will cherish the memorable moments we had, and it truly has been a unique experience.
We feel pleasure recommending both places to our friends and relations and the excellent facilities available. We will be back in Dec’10/Jan’11 with extended family and we’ll definitely be staying at Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa and The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa.

“Hay Knocker! We all wanted to say a big thanks for making our holiday the very best it could have been. Each day we were blown away by the level of care that was taken to look after us and make sure we were happy and enjoying our stay at The Rarotongan. Being a director myself I know how good it is to hear positive feedback and useful to hear what was so good. Few things that stood out to us as seasoned travellers…the two of us have covered most of the globe over the last 20 years and stayed in some pretty nice resorts, and for my son this was his first trip - and man you have set the bench mark. What made The Rarotongan so special…well at the end of the day all resorts are just a bunch of buildings placed in desirable destinations, but that’s where the similarities stop. At The Rarotongan the first thing that we noticed was that it had a heart beat that came through all your staff. It’s easy to train staff to serve people but your team cared about us. We arrived a day early at 1am as the travel agent forgot about the date line yet straight away we were given a cool drink and seated while our room was made ready. The team didn’t judge a book by its cover - when I travel I leave all the bling at home and relax to the max - yet we were treated with the utmost respect all the times. Then we noticed that everyone was smiling all the time and happy in their work from the cleaners to the front of house and into the kitchen, both when they knew they were being watched and when they didn’t. Every day the cleaners made our room so nicely making sure everything was in stock and adjusting the levels to compensate for 3 wild guys without being asked; extra towels and shampoo and hot cocoa, placing jugs of cold water in the fridge, shutting the nets when we forgot, placing fresh flowers on our beds every day and leaving a note. Your waiters and waitress never had to be asked to do anything. They paid attention to us all the time making sure everything was right, our tables were cleared quickly and quietly without interrupting or leaning over, the food was presented well and balanced flavours and hot (having a 5 star restaurant background this stood out to me)…not to mention the way chef cooked our fish that we caught to perfection. I never once had to season anything it was all bang on and the raw fish was just like my wife makes, maybe even better but we won’t tell her that now will we. The activity guys were a blast telling stories, always laughing and letting us know where to go on the island then hanging back after work and playing pool. Front desk managed all our trips without missing a beat and everywhere we went it was smooth, your reputation preceded you again and again. Catching up with some of the staff after work at the local hot spots was a blast – I think I could have married off my mate if we had time! And lastly, you, Knocker thank you so much for taking such good care of us, watching our back and making our trip a truly restful time and thanks for going the extra mile for the paper work I needed. You have a great team and a great place and God willing we will be back same time next year with a few more mates so watch the booking and we are telling all our mates. We arrived on Friday 14th August 2009 and stayed until Friday 21st August 2009. We were the party of the Dinnan and Nolan Family and were in Room’s 104,105, 108 and 109. There were 9 of us over in Rarotonga for my Fathers 60th birthday. The staff I would like to thank is Peter and John in Activities. The famous Activities Hut. This is where we spent the majority of our holiday! Peter - for his lovely smile, his knowledge of surfing on the Island (where to surf and updates on swell), and his respect. Peter did not let go and made sure we got everything right, from the Island Dance, too playing the drums. He is a very special employee that you have, and we miss him. John - what a lovely guy. He taught us so much. He taught us how to use the sarong (pareu) in so many ways; he always made a great joke and put a smile on all of our faces. He took us to play Touch Rugby, which was so much fun, and we booked in with him to go Night Snorkeling and he was the best man on the job. He kept our group together and knew all the spots for a fantastic time out in the ocean, and he made our trip so much fun! We will be back to see him and miss him heaps too. John has a fantastic smile, great respect, and does very well at his job; he is a great employee that you have working for you. Both Peter and John ran a fantastic Karaoke night! They both have great rapport with the guests and get everybody’s involvement. I could go on and on about the boys on so many levels, so I will narrow it down to this: - Respectful, Enthusiastic, Talented, Fun and Hard workers. I wish both of these great guys success, wealth and happiness. We will be back and staying with you, and I will be recommending The Rarotongan to all of our family and friends. "Wow! What can I say? The Cook Islands once again lived up to my expectations and we had an incredible Honeymoon! A lot of what made it special was where we were staying and the service we received, so I just wanted to mention a couple of things and say a huge Thank You!! At The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa, Brendon was absolutely blown away when we got to our Grand Beachfront Suite. It was gorgeous weather as we went to the markets, then came back and made full use of the snorkelling gear, then drying off on our rooftop balcony and then later enjoyed a few cocktails around the pool! The next few days we made the most of being in paradise and took advantage of all the resort’s facilities and free activities programme. At the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa, the moment you step foot on the ferry to take you to the resort, everything else is completely forgotten and it was so amazing to see Brendon’s face as he saw it for the first time. The staff in Aitutaki I must say have that special touch and you just feel so welcome when you arrive, and during your stay they really do make an incredible place that much more special. We ended up staying in Aitutaki an additional night as the weather was so beautiful, and after talking to Rose she said we couldn’t leave without doing a Lagoon Cruise. I am so glad she said that because the Lagoon Cruise was the highlight of the trip. Aitutaki is truly an amazing place from land but the lagoon is out of this world and seeing turtles, snorkelling over Giant Clams, having a BBQ lunch on One Foot Island and seeing a Water Funnel are things we won’t forget and can’t wait to experience again. We met a few other couples on their honeymoon whilst in Aitutaki and all of them were amazed by the natural beauty of Aitutaki and also about how nothing was a problem when talking with any of the staff and how much they enjoyed the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort. So thank you once again and we will be saving our pennies to go again in the future!” |

“I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Rarotonga and Aitutaki. It’s been 6 years since my last visit to Raro and this was my first visit to Aitutaki. Our stay at The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa was wonderful. The staff at The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa could not have been more friendly or helpful. We stayed in a Beachfront Suite – nice rooms! Spacious and light, great bathrooms with private balcony or deck. We hired pushbikes and cycled around Rarotonga. It’s hard work in the sun, but it’s completely flat and you can make a day of it, stopping for a cool drink or lunch and with beautiful beaches along the way you can stop for a refreshing swim anytime. Although there were children staying at the Resort, we didn’t see any at all during the day – the Moko’s Kids Club takes care of them very well!! There are a variety of dining options at the resort. We attended the ‘Island Night’ on our last night which included a very nice BBQ Buffet and show – great value for money. The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa has a fabulous location right on the edge of a beautiful lagoon. With a wonderful relaxing feel about the resort and many activities available you can be as active or laid back as you like. Aitutaki, simply stunning!!! If it’s romance you are looking for, this is the place to go. There’s not one thing that I could put my finger on, just an overall feeling or perhaps it’s something in the air. Whatever it is, the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa just generates romance effortlessly!!! Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa is on its own private island just seconds by boat from the mainland. We stayed in an Overwater Bungalow – I could quite happily have moved in forever!!! The rooms are spacious with a huge bathroom area, and an outdoor shower in your own private landscaped garden. You have your own private deck over the lagoon with sunloungers and table and chairs and a short walk down the stairs finds you on a lower platform with another outdoor shower to rinse off after swimming and snorkelling in the lagoon. The lagoon is just stunning, with an abundance of tropical fish, the water is warm and the most amazing colour – yes all those pictures of Aitutaki are true to life!!! Needless to say we spent a lot of time in the lagoon. The Beachfront Bungalows are right on the edge of the beach with decks and views over the lagoon. The Garden Bungalows are very close to the beach and the closest to the reception/pool area. All rooms in all bungalows are well fitted out and furnished in natural tones. We hired a scooter on our second day and toured around the big island. Some beautiful vacant beaches here. We had pre-booked a private dinner out on the point for our first night. You must reserve this in advance as only one couple can dine out there per evening. Surrounded by tiki torches, the sky like black velvet, zillions of huge brightly shining stars and a fabulous 7 course degustation menu. The scene is truly set for romance. It’s easy to believe that you are the only ones on the island. The Flying Boat Beach Bar & Grill restaurant is nestled right on the edge of the lagoon with a large outdoor deck for dining under the stars, and the fine dining restaurant is located by the pool. The staff at the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa are fantastic, friendly and helpful, yet completely unobtrusive and you barely know that they are there. A huge thank you to the staff and management of both The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa and Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa for providing us with such a wonderful stay and such outstanding service. “After researching areas to visit in the Pacific Islands we originally decided on Tahiti. My travel agent talked me out of Tahiti and recommended the Cook Islands and I'm so glad she did. Travelling with my best friend, her husband and my boyfriend, we spent the week snorkelling, drinking cocktails and seeing the island up close and personal by renting scooters instead of a car. We had a blast!! Deep sea fishing was an adventure, the snorkelling next to our hotel, The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa, was filled with a variety of beautiful fish and coral and the staff was really sweet and helpful. The overall quality of the restaurants on the island was a little disappointing. The food was rather bland overall. The resort has a great breakfast spread every morning overlooking the ocean and it was a fabulous way to start your day. If we ever return we will stay at The Rarotongan again just for the snorkelling alone. If I could afford it, I would spend six months a year during the winter living in the Cooks. The people are very nice and keep their homes landscaped and clean. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Cook Islands.” |

We did not do any swimming in the pool during our stay and why would you when you have the lagoon just outside your room which is warmer than the pool and fantastic swimming and snorkelling. The snorkelling at The Rarotongan was exceptional, you just put some bread out and the fish come from all over and eat out of your hands, just fantastic. We went on the glass bottom tour on Aitutaki which was also great. Over all a fantastic holiday and we will be returning.” |

I am not a regular traveller but have managed a trip to Europe in the past 2 years and no accommodation and such friendly staff can compare with this resort. Always happy to assist and service with a smile. The resort had everything you could wish for, including a relaxing and friendly pool area. Both my daughter and myself came back with a few kilos extra as meals were well presented and more than enough. Rooms were well air-conditioned with fan and air unit and very comfortable. We walked out the door directly to the beach. A great variety of activities to choose from daily and these were so much fun. No shortage of sun loungers here and towelling, snorkels and fins were never in short supply. A great kids room, well equipped and supervised which we checked out for family at home, no worries for Mums & Dads here. “We have just returned home from our wonderful holiday in Rarotonga, we stayed at your resort, this was our second visit, we stayed last year in May for 7 nights, this time we stayed for 9 in your Two Bedroom Beachside Suite, as there was three adults and two children, the two bedroom was perfect for us and we were really impressed. This time we also noticed a lot of changes to the resort and were very impressed. It was also nice to see you helping out in the resort where you could, it's nice to see a Manager getting stuck in and making sure the resort runs like clockwork, so well done. So we were very impressed with the changes since our last visit. It's also nice to see some of the old faces from our last visit, Nii is a wonderful lady and a great lady to have as part of your resort, the ladies in the Moko's Kids Club do a fantastic job, Ena in the Spa did a wonderful job on braiding my daughter's hair and all the staff were very helpful. So really we just wanted to email and thank you and your team for making our holiday such a wonderful one and we are already planning our next trip back, going to stay longer next time and we will leave the two children with Nana for a couple of nights and me and my husband would like to go to Aitutaki as it looks beautiful. I think it might have been called Chicken Tropicana, and from memory it was chicken breast stuffed with mango cream cheese, wrapped in bacon and filo pastry, and served on coconut-flavoured mashed potatoes and corn. We would like to make it for ourselves at home but don't want to mess it up. I hope that you can share the recipe for this lovely dish and look forward to your reply." |

We found the space and privacy offered at the Villa great. Loved the outdoor decking, pool table tennis, games etc. One of our sons aged 16 years is disabled and we have found it easy for him to access and use the Villa facilities especially shower/bath areas. I was celebrating my 40th birthday on 29 October 2007 and was looking forward to receiving pampering on my special birthday. I was not disappointed. My personal Spa Therapist, Pulotu, was amazing. Her professionalism, gentle yet thorough treatment was wonderful. Pulotu was very attentive and I completely relaxed under her skillful hands. A spa treatment is a very personal experience and I was really taken care of and enjoyed every moment. I communicated my thanks to Pulotu and the Spa Manager who processed my payment.
