Rarotonga

At the southern end of the island chain is Rarotonga, the largest of the Cook Islands and the country's capital. However, nothing about Rarotonga is large, except for the hearts of her people.

Rarotonga is 32 kilometers (20 miles) in circumference. Lush tropical mountain peaks dramatically plunge to white sand beaches that front a fringing reef, enveloping a stunning turquoise lagoon. Rarotonga is the home of the international airport as well as the seat of government. The relative small size of Rarotonga has helped to maintain a strong communal atmosphere in this culturally rich country. And, situated on the island's finest beach fronting a pristine marine reserve, sits the island's Signature Resort - The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa.
